Dog Sledding in Norway - Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, March15 March 2010 to 21 March 2010 Charity Events
Challenge participants each have their own dog sled pulled by a team of 4-6 huskies, looking after each other and becoming a powerful unit by the end of the fundraising dog sled challenge. Dog sledding over 200 kilometres from our base camp into the wilds of the most northern European country of Norway, this event proves an charity challenge of a lifetime for many participants.

Aside from the spectacular scenery of the Great Wall and the surrounding countryside, one of the most rewarding aspects of this charity trek is the ability to experience the warmth and enthusiasm of the Chinese people.

Our adventure starts in Hanoi, a city rapidly developing under the recently accepted market economy and moves into the northern western highlands, with spectacular mountain scenery, and populated by the ethnic hill tribes that make up 10 of Vietnam’s population. Our ride will take in some of the most stunning scenery that Vietnam has to offer, visit sites of historical significance, as well as giving participants a chance to meet rural Vietnamese living a way of life that has hardly changed for centuries.

Bike ride through remote villages, adventure trek over mountain passes and raft down winding rivers. Camp deep in the forest and experience and learn about Borneo’s tribal culture. With no other operator can you see so much of Borneo in such a short space of time.

The Disaster Relief Challenge is a unique and exciting 12 hour event during which your team of 4 will encounter some of the extreme situations faced by aid workers in the field. Competing against other teams you will need to work together to solve logistical problems, navigate precarious terrain and be tested on how well you respond when faced with critical emergency situations.

Our jungle challenge takes you from sea level to the highest point in South East Asia – Mount Kinabalu, at 4,101m. Trekking through an area that has some of the richest flora in the world, the route takes us along river valleys, through lowland rainforest, villages, paddy fields, pineapple and rubber plantations, until we finally reach the trail towards the summit of Mount Kinabalu.
