Dog Sledding in Norway - Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, March. Norway

15 March 2010 to 21 March 2010

Challenge participants each have their own dog sled pulled by a team of 4-6 huskies, looking after each other and becoming a powerful unit by the end of the fundraising dog sled challenge. Dog sledding over 200 kilometres from our base camp into the wilds of the most northern European country of Norway, this event proves an charity challenge of a lifetime for many participants.

More Information

The nature of the charity event means that it is run with a relatively small number of fundraising participants (13 maximum). Challenge members are expected to feed, harness and look after their sled dogs for the entire trip. An ATD expedition leader, supported by an experienced wilderness doctor and a local Norwegian guide, will head up the fundraising expedition. With temperatures falling as low as -30oC the bond between man and dog becomes essential, and the real essence of teamwork is truly tested in this hostile arctic environment.

Across the Divide is the foremost provider of charity challenges and charity dog sledding or sledging in the Arctic. Our challenge team, back up, and level of service are second to none. We have chosen Northern Norway as the location for our charity dog sled expeditions in order to attain a greater sense of wilderness and adventure, but we can provide all services in northern Sweden as well.

All our charity challenges are accompanied by some of the most experienced Arctic travellers and cold weather trained wilderness medics in the business and operate in both Swedish and Norwegian Lapland. The pristine beauty of Lapland and the alienness of this snowbound environment is truly something to behold- the sense of space and freedom you get from standing outside of your cabin watching the majestic display of the northern lights is quite unique.

You will need to book this trip directly with Battersea Dogs and Cats home.
