Kilimanjaro trek - Oxfam Ireland. Kilimanjaro
26 February 2011 to 08 March 2011
Our fundraising adventure takes us to the remote north-eastern side of Kilimanjaro, and follows the Rongai Trail. Above all other walking routes, Rongai retains a true sense of wilderness. The benefits of the route are that there are usually less hikers (usually one-tenth that of Machame) and it is generally considered to be one of the easiest of the quality routes on Kilimanjaro.
More Information
Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest freestanding mountain in the world, made up of 3 volcanoes, Kibo (5,896m), Mawenzi (5,149m) and Shira (3,962m), all of which have been lying dormant for centuries.By also spending 5 nights on this route we will offer the best chance of summiting. Upon reaching the summit of Kilimanjaro, we will descend along the wide paths of the Marangu trail (otherwise known as the Coca-Cola Route). This is definitely the best choice for charity climbers looking for a quality Kilimanjaro experience with the least chance of difficulties.
You will need to book this trip directly with Oxfam Ireland.
Testimonials
Thanks for a wonderful once in a lifetime (definitely!) experience. Thanks to everyone who ensured everyone made the most of their time on Kili – the whole operation was excellently organised, safety a priority and most of all, we had great fun! I shall recommend ATD to anybody who asks. Thanks again for all of it!
