Project
Brazil School Project - Bobby Moore Fund. Brazil
26 September 2010 to 06 October 2010
On our school charity project we will work to restore and extend a community school in the remote village of Forte, about 90 km from Alto Paraíso. It is a very small village situated right beside the Chapada dos Vaedeiros National Park and consists of about 200 people. They have a rich history and culture, with a strong sense of community with entire family groups joining in to help with mud crafts and manioc flour. View full details of the project here.
More Information
You will need to book this trip directly with the Bobby Moore Fund full details can be found here.
Registration Fee £350 minimum fundraising target £4000 more facts.
This charity project has been developed in partnership with the local population and will give children and adults the chance to continue to be educated amidst their families, rather than have to move away. The work will help both to secure the local school and give strength to the community.
The school is small and has about 60 students. The building is in a very poor state and needs a lot of improvement. The most urgent tasks that you will be involved in are:
The construction of a new classroom
Painting the outside of the building
Repairing and covering the roof
Repairing the floor
Plaster and paint the interior walls
A great community project giving you a real sense of achievement and at the same time raising funds for the Bobby Moore Project and maybe addressing your companies Corporate social responsibility (CSR) targets.

Testimonials
I am sure we all had our own personal reasons for deciding to commit to Project Brazil but I doubt we all realised when we signed up what an impact it would actually have. I don’t think I have laughed so much, cried so often and worked so hard before.
No matter how much you read or how much you’re told that the project will impact the village and people so much, nothing prepares you for it actually sinking in until you are there and experiencing it. The emotion and impact on the village was so profound it really does humble you.
My overriding thought of this amazing project is that the BMF has provided me with yet another life changing experience. It has been an emotionally charged, immensely rewarding and thought provoking journey; so thank you once again.
