A Smile for a Child
The aims of the charity are to provide grants for disabled & disadvantaged children, to allow them to participate and progress in sport, this can be to a Club, an Organisation or to an individual child. This could be funds for a sports wheelchair for a disabled child, to sports equipment for a club or organisation.

Beaston Pebble Appeal, The
The Beatson Pebble Appeal is a £10M campaign to raise funds to build the Beatson Translational Research Centre; the final element in the creation of the Glasgow Centre for Cancer Research.The Beatson Translational Research Centre (TRC) will convert basic cancer research into real improvements in treatments for patients. It will focus upon especially common tumours, those that cause the most deaths in Scotland such as endocrine (breast, prostate and ovarian); smoking related (lung, throat, oral) and gastrointestinal cancer.

Canine Partners
The purpose of Canine Partners is to assist people with disabilities to enjoy a greater independence and quality of life and, where possible, to help them into education and employment, through the provision of specially trained dogs, whose well-being is a key consideration. £500 sponsorship from your challenge can purchase another puppy for training to become a future Canine Partners Assistance Dog. Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY)
Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young (35 and under) people die of undiagnosed heart conditions.
CRY strives to prevent tragedies through: -
- Our National Screening Programme
- Funding medical research into young sudden cardiac death -
- Developing the CRY Centre for Inherited Cardiovascular Conditions and Sports Cardiology
- Raising awareness of the risk of undetected cardiac conditions in young people
CRY also supports young people diagnosed with life-threatening cardiac conditions through the Surgery Supporters Network and those affected by young sudden cardiac death by:
- Offering a fast-track expert cardiac pathology service through the Centre for Cardiac Pathology
- Providing a Bereavement Support Service
- Providing information and literature free of charge

CGD Research Trust, The

Changing Faces
Changing Faces is the leading UK charity that supports and represents people who have disfigurements to the face, hand or body from any cause. We were founded in 1992 by James Partridge OBE, Chief Executive, who was injured in a car fire when he was 18 years old. Diabetes UK
Diabetes UK is the largest organisation in the UK working for people with diabetes, their family, friends and carers. Our mission is to improve the lives of people with the condition and work towards a future without diabetes.
At present there are more than 3.5 million people in the UK living with diabetes. The complications of diabetes are very serious – diabetes and its associated complications kills more people each year than breast, bowel and prostate cancer combined.
Diabetes UK stands up for the interests of people with diabetes by campaigning for better standards of care. The charity is one of the largest funders in the UK of research into better treatments for diabetes and the search for a cure. Diabetes UK also provides practical support and information for people with diabetes and their families and carers.

Friends of Forest Holme
Friends of Forest Holme supports the specialist palliative & hospice care unit in
Forest Holme is managed by Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and offers a tranquil setting for the physical and psychological comfort of patients with complex needs. The unit also provides support and advice to carers, family and friends.
The funds we raise go towards supporting all aspects of the unit including the 10 bedded in-patients ward; the purchasing of specialist equipment; the funding of additional staffing posts; complementary therapies; counselling and bereavement support to patients and their families.

Hives Save Lives – Africa is working to alleviate poverty by helping people achieve self-sufficiency through beekeeping. Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF)
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation exists to find the cure for type 1 diabetes and its complications, and is the world's largest charitable funder of type 1 diabetes research. About 350,000 people in the UK alone are affected by type 1 diabetes with over 25,000 of them children. It is a leading cause of kidney failure, adult blindness, stroke, heart attacks and nerve damage leading to amputation. JDRF was founded by a small group of parents of children with type 1 diabetes who recognised that insulin injections are not the cure for this life threatening and lifelong condition!

Kathmandu Arts Centre, The
The Kathmandu Arts Centre, registered charity no 1121118, is a unique project which helps contemporary artists in Nepal who have become isolated due to politics, geography and poverty. We aim to establish a world-class contemporary arts centre in Nepal with the broader remit of educating the young people of Nepal in the wealth of their artistic heritage, an area currently not covered by the school syllabus. The first stage in implementing this aim is to secure the lease on a suitable building we have found in Kathmandu and to then it it out. The plan is that the Centre should be self-financing within five years.

Momentum
Momentum is a registered charity established in 2004, covering South West London and Surrey. Its aim is to help children and their families who have cancer or a life-limiting condition.
Momentum assists children and their families in the following ways:
- Through the provision of equipment and the improvement of facilities in local hospitals, where children undergoing treatment for cancer and other serious illnesses will typically spend prolonged periods of time.
- By organising events at which sick children and their siblings have the opportunity to meet with other children and share their experiences.
- By offering mutual support for parents and families.

MS Research
MS Society, The
The MS Society is the UK’s largest charity for people affected by multiple sclerosis, about 100,000 in the UK. MS is the most common disabling neurological disorder affecting young adults, often characterised by distressing symptoms such as muscle spasms, fatigue, depression and pain.
