Dog sled race in Norway

Finnmarksløpet is the world’s northernmost sled dog race and the longest in Europe.   It was held in Northern Norway in March and our very own dog sled guru’s (Per Thore) wife, Hege Hansen took part and completed this gruelling event.  There were two trails, the short one is 500 kilometres and the long one is 1000 kilometres long, Hege did the 500km trail, which took her and her dogs 7 hours and 10 minutes averaging speed was 10km/h.

Dog Sledding charity event diary

Right To Play recently had their top fundraiser, Sabine take part in our unique Dog Sledding event in Norway this March 8-14th. The challenge involved sledding over 200km into the wilds of Norway, Europes most northern country. Participants are responsible for looking after their own team of huskies and surviving in a land of snow and ice for one week.
