About Bolivia
|
|
Bolivia is a country of great natural wealth and diversity; it boasts some of the world’s greatest mountain ranges largely unexplored by modern tourism. The culture of the country is still primarily rural and reflects a style of life little changed since the Spanish Invasion. The Quimza Cruz Mountains are little visited although historically they have been exploited for their rich mineral deposits and are at present being exploited in a small way for their hydro-electrical potential. |
"This very beautiful mountain range is still considered the future of Bolivian mountaineering because it is difficult to reach and few people make the effort to get there." Footprint guide on Quimza Cruz area.

Charity Trek in the Bolivian Andes
Without any doubt the Quimsa Cruz mountain range provides a microcosm of the Andes mountains. Summits cloaked in perpetual snows, long sweeping glaciers, enormous granite peaks (a rock climber's paradise), multi-coloured lakes, mountain valleys boasting deep gorges and high altitude woodlands, old tin mines, an immense variety of birds and plants and the mystical atmosphere of the Andes, all combine to make this an unforgettable trek. |
